Favorite Cold Weather Exercises

True Lemon Winter Exercise TipsThe Holidays are upon us!  Too much to get done, too many places to go, too many people to see!  Plus, its cold outside! So what’s the easiest thing to skip during the onslaught of family and festivities? Exercise! But exercise is probably the last thing we should give up. It’s one of the best defenses against holiday weight gain.  And moderate to intense exercise, like heavy weight lifting or interval aerobics, boosts your endorphins, giving you long-lasting good feelings and making all those holiday must-do’s a lot more enjoyable. So

try to prioritize exercise this winter to reap the mental and physical rewards. Here are some winter stick-to-it-tips from True Citrus users:

Laura in San Francisco says her exercise of choice for winter is “Yoga: especially a heated class which is great in the winter. Not a crazy 120-degree Bikram class, but a warm class that can really chase away the chills.” And when she can’t fit a class into her schedule?  “A run is always good to heat you up in the winter and it takes less time than a yoga class.”

Health and family motivate Mei in Seattle to keep moving.  She says “when I was diagnosed as diabetic, exercise became an even more important regimen in my daily life. And as a mom, you do want to have a positive influence on your kids and not give them the impression that you're lazy. By looking and feeling good, it energizes me and motivates me to keep things going and maintain the momentum.”

True Lemon lover Anne in New Jersey has an unusual trick-yourself tip: don’t put on workout clothes before turning on your at-home exercise DVD.  “Changing my clothes is just an extra barrier to getting the exercise done. Instead, I start the work out as is, and as I get heated I eventually strip down to my underwear.  Yes, I make sure I have lots of privacy!”

So cram that exercise in, and you’ll be fitter and happier for it. And remember, drink plenty of water (we always add a packet of 0-calorie True Citrus to flavor our water bottles!) during and after exercising. Even if you aren’t sweating as much as in summer, your body needs it!

So, True Lemon lovers, what are your favorite cold weather exercise solutions?
