How Lime Can Help with Seasonal Allergies
Allergy season is upon us: trees bloom, flowers blossom and pollen flies hither onto our hair, thither up our noses and yon in our eyes. If you’ve got hay fever, here’s a surprising tip to stay sneeze-free: a daily dose of lime juice!
Yes, according to lore, half a lime --or about 4 packets of True Lime -- squeezed in warm water and taken in the morning will help fight off allergy symptoms like congestion, itchy and runny nose and watery, swollen eyes. Apparently the lime juice helps flush toxins and allergens from your system.
Well, we’re not sure about the science, but drinking delicious lime water sounds much better than taking those allergy meds that make us so sleepy.
Drinking all-natural, 0-calorie True Lime in water also sounds way better than another all-natural allergy remedy recommended by many: nasal lavage --which we’ve found to be about as pleasant as it sounds. Warm salted water up one nostril and out the other, yuck (but we admit it does seem to help flush irritants and excess mucus).
According to the information we found on lime and allergies, it takes about a month for the daily lime dosing to work, so get a jump on the season and start your True Lime regimen now!
