When we launched our 4th of July Recipe Contest, we knew we could count on our talented True Citrus customers to provide us with some yummy and unique recipes. We hope you have a chance to make some of the scrumptious recipes that were submitted, and you’ll share our delicious dilemma in trying to choose a favorite!
Each of our winners has shared a bit about themselves and their love of cooking. We’re pleased to meet them and know you will be too!
We wanted to let you know that we have selected the Grand Prize winner and the four Honorable Mentions for our July 4th Recipe Contest.
Before we let you know who the winner is, we’d like to say thank you! We had over 200 recipe submissions and we really appreciate everyone who took the time to enter. Our team made many of the recipes and the competition was stiff.
In the end we selected the five recipes that we felt had a combination of having wide appeal, interest, were easy to make without being too easy, used True products in a way that was integral to the recipe and, of course, were really delicious.
We’ve all heard that drinking enough water is an essential part of staying healthy, right? It's true! Dietitian and Nutritionist Charlotte Lawson has a few every day tips for staying hydrated.
So skip that sugary (or artificial sugary) soda and keep some water with True Lemon around to sip on all day! And be sure and use a reusable bottle, if you're on the go. At home, don't forget a simple water glass works, too. Stay true!
It’s hard to imagine a summer without baseball. The crack of the bat, the smell of sunscreen, and of course, the snacks are part of a tradition that goes back to many of our childhoods. If you’re planning on indulging (in moderation of course) on a few treats, you should be on the lookout for signs of spoiled or contaminated stadium food. Dr. Richard Besser shared a few things to watch out for to keep you and your family healthy and safe from the food safety issues that the heat of summer brings to local stadiums.
If you’re wondering how your local stadium measures up, there’s a great interactive map from ESPN (link). Our advice? Stay away from that salty stadium food altogether! If it’s not a ball game for you without a hot dog, try and be sensible about the portion: just have one!
